In late December 2022 the Forum of Foreign Graduates of Soviet and Russian Universities took place in the Arab Republic of Egypt (Cairo).
The event was attended by RSMU’s representatives - Vice-rector for Extracurricular Activity and International Issues Mariya Gordova and Vice-rector for Research and Innovative Development Suchkov Igor - at the invitation of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (also known as ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO).
During the Forum numerous discussion panels, breakout sessions and roundtable discussions were organized. They were attended by members of alumni associations of Soviet and Russian Universities’ graduates from 14 countries - Egypt, Zambia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, UAE, Palestine, Republic of Congo, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ethiopia, South Africa - as well as managers and staff of educational institutions of higher education of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
RSMU representatives spoke at thematic platforms of the Forum presenting the experience of the University in training foreign nationals, as well as talking about the research work carried out by the University staff and students.
In addition, during an informal meeting of the University administration with the Deputy Dead of ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO Pavel Shevtsov and authorized representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt Saleh Hashem, the issue of recognition of the educational degree obtained at RSMU by the Egyptian authorities was also discussed.
As a part of the Forum the Russian delegation was guided to the Egyptian-Russian University, where the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dentistry were attended. During the stay RSMU representatives reached a preliminary agreement with ERU administration to sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing cooperation between the educational institutions in the framework of academic exchange programs and joint research.
It should also be mentioned that Mariya Gordova took part in a bilateral meeting with presidents of leading Egyptian universities, where she introduced the colleagues to a variety of areas for mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities.
