Waled Bashari (Sudan) graduated RSMU Facility of International Students (specialization “General Medicine”) in 2013. After his graduation and post-graduate studies in Russia that followed, he continued studying as an oncology resident in Great Britain:
- I had dreamt about saving human lives since childhood and Ryazan State Medical University helped thas dream come true, it helped me fulfil myself as a doctor and achieve a great success from the scratch.
Being a resident at RSMU I developed my clinical skills and also improved my surgical and counselling skills. I can't say that it was easy, there were sleepless nights and countless shifts. But as they say in Russia: “A hard drill makes an easy battle”.
Currently I am studying in London and working as a general practitioner. I am a Member of the British Medical Association (BMA), I have a research fellowship of London Metropolitan university. Besides, I am a Member of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO).
My professional life started from a small seed of dream grown up to be a plant called Ryazan University and that plant was the origin of a tree full of branches of achievements.
I would like to advise RSMU students to focus on their studies and look forward to the future. Don't give up and you will achieve your goals. Work hard and you will win!
