On Friday, March 31, students from Ryazan universities met with a delegation from the Embassy of Uzbekistan headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Asadov Botirjon Zakirovich.
The parties discussed new ways of strengthening mutually beneficial relations in the fields of education and culture. They emphasized the importance of promoting Uzbek culture in various spheres of youth life, including science, culture and sports. The students spoke about their initiatives in this field, which were approved and supported by the representatives of the Embassy.
The Ambassador said that he was proud of his compatriots studying in Russia and wished the students success in everything, as well as encouraged them to be more active in university life. In addition, he reminded about a referendum to be held at the end of April and aimed at updating the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
He noted that this constitutional act contains many points aimed at young people, so students are welcome to take part in the referendum.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Uzbek National Cultural Autonomy “Almaz”, who spoke about their experience of work and cooperation with Ryazan students. That was a great example of how different cultures could unite and educate each other.
It should be mentioned that the number of students from Uzbekistan at Ryazan universities has increased significantly over the past three years and universities are interested in attracting more students from Uzbekistan.
