Last Saturday RSMU students were enthusiastic to celebrated Maslenitsa!
Maslenitsa Week is an ancient holiday that still takes many Slavic nations by storm every spring. Celebrations are held to mark the imminent end of winter with mountains of hot, delicious pancakes (blini) and revelry.
RSMU students said farewell to winter very actively with songs, merry round dances, agility games and original Russian fun. Exciting contests and relay races added flavour to the festive event.
Many of RSMU foreign students had never heard about this festival before, so they gladly took part in this Russian folk festival and received a lot of positive emotions. For foreign students it is a lucky chance to participate in the celebration of Maslenitsa, as it means to touch real Russian traditions, to get on the live pages of Russian history, to witness the original traditions of the largest state in the world. The whole event improved the mood of all those in attendance and contributed to the creative expression of each student.
