TIME FOR GOOD DEEDS

This spring turned out to be full of volunteer work for RSMU students.

To start with, volunteer students joined All-Russia Social Movement against Iodine Deficiency Disorders. On May, 24 they placed an information stand in the main pedestrian street of the city where would-be-doctors were handing out informational leaflets and telling Ryazan citizens about the danger of iodine deficiency and its preventive measures.
In the framework of World No Tobacco Day (May 31) volunteer students conducted a discussion for adults dedicated to lung cancer caused by smoking and ran “My Healthy Family” drawing contest for children. The works of the participants were exhibited in the lobby of the University swimming pool.

Volunteer units` rides to care homes for children with disabilities have become a good tradition.

This year shortly before International Children's Day (June 1) RSMU students visited Kostino care home to talk to its residents about the importance of hygiene and simple rules that help people be healthy and full of energy. The volunteers also arranged brain outdoor games for the children.

Later in Elatomsk care home RSMU volunteers held “Miss Summer 2019” contest for the girls and a football championship for the boys.

The volunteer unit “A Kind Friend” has been helping Ryazan animal shelters for almost a year cleaning cages, feeding and walking animals, providing medical treatment and performing hygienic procedures if needed. In May the University held a charity event to collect medicine, food and toys for animal shelters.
